Nancy Mathews has 15 years' experience in emergency management and business continuity planning for the private sector, including 8 years as the Disaster Response Manager for NBC Universal. Nancy is a Certified Emergency Manager, and holds a Certificate of Fitness in High-Rise Fire/Life Safety from the Los Angeles Fire Department. Since moving into the consulting field, her clients range from motion picture studios and television networks, to amusement parks and arenas, as well as universities, high-rise office buildings and large manufacturing plants.

For 10 years she has been a course manager for FEMA’s Professional Development Series and Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) curriculum, as well as Dept. of Homeland Security’s terrorism awareness courses for first responders. Nancy is on the Board of Directors for the Business and Industry Council for Emergency Planning & Preparedness (BICEPP) as the Vice President of the Private Sector. As a long-time member of BICEPP, she led the development team in designing a CERT Train-the-Trainer course for the private sector. Nancy has been a speaker or moderator for numerous emergency management conferences and seminars, and has been the private sector representative on the Executive Committee for the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services annual conference.
