BICEPP Annual Awards Program
BICEPP is a non-profit professional association of emergency management and business continuity professionals. Our goal is to provide a forum for information exchange in order to enhance disaster resilience in Southern California. In an effort to meet that goal, we annually recognize excellence with our Annual Awards Program.
Who Can Nominate an Individual, Group or Organization?
BICEPP members and friends are encouraged to nominate any person, group or organization you feel has contributed significantly to the field of emergency preparedness, management, mitigation, response or planning.
Who is Eligible to Be Nominated?
Nominees (individuals, groups or organizations) should be role models to other emergency professionals (aspiring and veteran) and demonstrate dedication, positive attitude and outstanding job performance.
Award Categories
Rising Star Award (Up to 4 awardees)
This award recognizes the success and highlights the accomplishments of those new to the emergency management professions' various expertise categories. Nominees represent the future of emergency planning and preparedness. Qualifications:
- Persons of any age with under two years of experience in the field of emergency preparedness, response, mitigation, communications, recovery or related fields.
- Contributions must demonstrate efforts that go above and beyond the normal scope of their employment.
- Has made a significant achievement / contribution in improving the planning and or preparedness efforts of businesses.
Rising Star Award honorees will receive:
- One-year membership in BICEPP
- A trophy recognizing this outstanding achievement
- A profile on the BICEPP website and social media
Award of Excellence (Up to 5 awardees)
The Award of Excellence is designed to showcase individuals, groups and organizations with the following qualifications within the past two years:
- Employed or volunteers in the field of emergency preparedness, management, mitigation, response or planning.
- Contributions must demonstrate efforts that go above and beyond the normal scope of their employment.
- Has made a significant achievement / contribution in improving the planning and or preparedness efforts of businesses.
- Exemplary service and / or support to BICEPP.
- Service or contributions to an emergency preparedness or planning organization.
Award of Excellence honorees will receive:
- A trophy recognizing this outstanding achievement
- A profile on the BICEPP website and social media
Recognition Awards (Up to 10 awardees)
The Recognition Award is designed to showcase individuals, groups and organizations with the following qualifications:
- Employed or volunteers in the field of emergency preparedness, management, mitigation, response or planning.
- Contributions that reflect a dedication to the preparedness industry.
- Has made achievements / contributions in improving the planning and or preparedness efforts of businesses.
- Exemplary service and / or support to BICEPP.
- Service or contributions to an emergency preparedness or planning organization.
Recognition Award honorees will receive:
- A certificate recognizing this achievement
- A profile on the BICEPP website and social media
Awardee Selection Process
The 2024 BICEPP Annual Event Committee is responsible for reviewing all nominations and making recommendations to the BICEPP Board of Directors for approval. Awardees will be notified before BICEPP's 2024 Awards Dinner of their selection to receive an award.
Entry Deadline - October 4, 2024

Presentation of Awards
Presentation of awards will take place this November at BICEPP's Annual Awards Dinner.
